I was browsing through Ravelry during Chinese New Year and found out a nuvem knitted by musicomusico of Japan http://www.ravelry.com/projects/musicomusico/nuvem in which two colours were used for this hexagonal shawl.
Being inspired by this, I quickly went through my stash and got a similar yellowish colour from Dandelion of Madelinetosh and a white with specks of aqua blue from Alegria of Manos Del Uruguay. Knew that it will be extremely difficult to get Wollmeise in Hong Kong, I decided to start casting on my nuvem using these two yarns.
Tosh merino light and Alegria
Started casting on using Judy’s Magic Cast On using two 3.5mm circular needles, my shawl commenced its journey of knit, make one and knit. No purl! Yay!
- Alegria in streaks of white, blue and grey
As this is my first time (yes, lots of first time) using wordpress and am still at learning stage on managing and setting up my blog. Would really like to make it more personnel with different themes and something special…….keeping exploring……..
My little boy started his pre-kindo (unlike nursery), as it is held once a week for 2 months during the summer break before he started going to kindergarten in early September. Last week he heard the story of Noar’s ark and the promise from God, all the kids made a rainbow with color papers and cotton stubs……lovely.
Received my very very first skein of Wollmeise Sock Yarn bidded at eBay on 1 August and just couldn’t wait to wind it in a ball to start the wellenschlag.
A pattern by Jana Huck, a designer from Germany. http://justblocked.blogspot.hk
A triangular shawl working from one side of the pointy tip up to the other side. Started Chart 1 & 2 and tried to get the rhythm from it. Cleverly written and will never get bored from it as you will want to what comes next!

Got stuck when I knitted the second repeat of wedge pattern…..
Re-read the pattern again and again and still couldn’t figure out what went wrong with my wedge growing unusually bigger on one side. Finally found out I mis-reading/over-reading one word in the pattern.
knitting is getting into rhythm and am feeling comfortable and confident with the pattern…..
